PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in an Acute Care unit utilizing a Team-Based Care model with daily interdisciplinary collaboration between MDs, nurses, case management, pharmacist, and PT/OT
• Unit consists of 30 beds with 40+ staff members
• Day and night shift staffing includes 1 Charge/CNC, 4-5 RNs/LPNs, and 2-3 NAs
• Patient ratios: SD/ICU 2-4:1; Med-Surg 5-6:1 with 2-3 PCTs on floor as appropriate
• Weekend rotation required - 3 Mondays and Fridays per 6-week scheduling period
• Holiday coverage per staffing matrix
• Float to TCU as needed
• Perform procedures including IV starts, CVL, arterial lines, Foley catheters, EKG monitoring, and wound care
• Utilize equipment including IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometer, wound vac, Baxter feeding pump, lift equipment, and Pyxis (nurses only)
• Document using Cerner EMR
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and care for all levels of care from Med/Surg to ICU
• Required certification: BLS (must be completed prior to end of orientation)
• ACLS must be completed prior to end of orientation
• ICU/Stepdown experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience preferred
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for nurses
