NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Job Details:

• NICU Level II & III experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; 1 year may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Weekend coverage required; 3 weekend shifts per contract for regular positions, every weekend for weekend positions
• Float to Pediatrics may be required
• Late stay may be required as needed
• Patient ratios: 2, 3, or 4 patients depending on acuity for days, nights, and weekends
• 36 orientation hours required
• Pass/Fail testing required at orientation: Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test required for all units
• Patient population includes neonates ranging from 23 weeks gestation to term
• Patient diagnoses include prematurity, respiratory distress, glucose management of late preterm, chorioamnionitis, and retinopathy of prematurity
• 35-bed unit with 22 intensive/intermediate beds and 10 beds in back nursery; open bay floor plan
• Special equipment includes HFOV and NAVA
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and unit secretary
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Skills in conscious sedation and ventilator management preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE; ACLS and NIH also required
• Active nursing license required; pending license accepted but must be obtained prior to start
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial submission
• Attendance policy in effect: missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
