Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Vail, CO

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team on a day shift schedule. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting November 16, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,301.

About the Role

You will work a 3x12 shift schedule, assisting during surgical procedures while maintaining the integrity of the sterile surgical field and providing instrumentation to the surgical team. Your expertise in sterile and aseptic technique, combined with knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures, will be essential to supporting safe, effective care.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor the sterile field, identifying any events that may contaminate or interfere and initiating corrective action under supervision
• Ensure the operating room environment is safe and all equipment functions properly to maximize patient safety
• Maintain and check all items for proper packaging, processing, moisture, seal integrity, sterile indicators, and expiration dates
• Apply working knowledge of AORN standards and maintain currency with new technologies, instrumentation, and equipment
• Participate in Time Out Process including Briefings and Debriefings
• Assist the surgical team with patient transports, room turnovers, and room preparation
• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
• Work towards competency or demonstrate competency with Tier 1 surgical cases
• Treat patients across all age groups with professionalism and compassion

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist credential
• Active Colorado state licensure as a Surgical Technologist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association
