ED RN Job in Penn Yan, NY

Finger Lakes Health Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, NY is seeking a registered nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a full-time position with rotating day and night shifts.

Position Details

• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week on a rotating basis, working 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Day, night, weekend, and holiday rotation required
• Start date: August 3, 2026
• Duration: 187 days
• Weekly pay: $2,411

Requirements

• Current New York State RN Licensure
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
• One year of acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Stroke Certification and NIHSS (AHA or RQI only)

Core Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive primary and secondary patient assessments for all age groups
• Conduct ESI triage and assign care priorities
• Apply nursing theory, technical, and communication skills to deliver high-quality patient care
• Manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations using invasive and non-invasive procedures and therapeutic interventions
• Assess physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and families
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnostic procedures, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Document and report any suspicion of domestic violence or abuse across all age groups
• Update patient communication boards throughout the ED stay

You will work in a Level 2 trauma facility providing emergency care to diverse patient populations while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
