Cath Lab Technologist - Cath Lab Tech

Job Details:

• Rotating after hours on-call schedule with a required Sunday rotation and maximum 30 minute commute time required
• Weekend schedule to be determined by facility
• Conduct specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular studies, and/or electrophysiology studies
• Serve as a lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities
• Collaborate with intra-procedure team to provide safe patient care and participate consistently in Universal Protocol and site marking identification
• Assist with identification, preparation, and draping of patients as well as room preparation for routine procedures
• Read physician orders and protocols, communicate with physicians on protocols for routine procedures, and select equipment in accordance with protocols and regulatory standards
• Maintain and calibrate equipment, institute and record all preventive maintenance procedures, and troubleshoot and report equipment issues to maintain operability
• Instruct technologists in the operation of special procedures equipment as needed
• Stay current with latest developments and advancements in cardiovascular technology through seminars, workshops, and professional organizations
• Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and laws that impact cardiovascular technology and the cardiac labs area
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Special Procedures or Cath/EP cases required
• Experience in a critical care setting (ICU, ED, etc.) or previous Cath/EP Lab setting preferred
• Previous travel experience highly preferred
• Required certifications: ARRT or RCIS, ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• Texas Medical Radiologic License required
• Skills checklist specific to Cardiac Cath Lab discipline required
• 2 supervisory references from within the last year required
