Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule including every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float between Med Surg and Stepdown units
• Unit serves as the stroke unit for the hospital with a 24-bed unit
• Patient ratios: Days/Evenings 1:5, Nights 1:6
• Dress code: Navy or black solid tops and bottoms required
• EMR: EPIC experience required
• Minimum 12 months of Med Surg experience required
• Minimum 18 months of nursing experience in a hospital or medical center setting required for first-time travelers
• Experience administering heparin required
• Experience administering cardizem required
• Experience administering amiodarone required
• Experience caring for neurology patients required
• Experience caring for oncology patients highly preferred
• De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, or CPI) highly preferred and can be obtained during onboarding
• NIH Stroke Scale certificate preferred and can be obtained during onboarding
• Work history must reflect 24 months of current Med Surg, medical surgical, oncology, or neurology experience
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg, medical surgical, oncology, or neurology discipline required
• Iowa RN license required with Nursys verification
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS, MOAB
