Job Details:

• Provide direct, safe, competent, and high-quality patient care in the Cath Lab
• Assist in the performance of various invasive cardiac and peripheral vascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Function under the direction of the cardiologist/radiologist performing the procedure
• Assist with confirmation that pre-op requirements are complete per hospital policy
• Function as the scrub assist to the cardiologist/radiologist following sterility guidelines
• Assist physician during procedures by operating ancillary equipment and anticipating needs
• Demonstrate the ability to assess cardiopulmonary and cardiovascular systems pre, intra, and post op
• Recognize, evaluate, and record hemodynamics, pressure wave forms, and EKG wave forms
• Identify and update the physician of any adverse physiological changes
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac, emergency, anxiolytic, anticoagulation, antiplatelet, and thrombolytic drugs and IV fluids
• Maintain hemostasis of vessels post procedure using appropriate devices
• Adhere to sterile and aseptic techniques per AORN guidelines
• Verify the operation of imaging equipment for all procedures and verify the integrity of the equipment prior to start of procedure
• Assist with supplies and ordering as needed
• Must be flexible with call and schedule, and comfortable with department slow times
• Willing to take call on weeknights and weekends required
• Minimum of 2 years experience as an Interventional Cardiovascular Technician or Cath Lab Technologist required
• Active BLS and ACLS issued through American Heart Association required
• RCIS or ARRT registration required
• Scrubs of any color permitted; scrubs should not contain names of other healthcare facilities
