Job Details:

• Competently perform routine and specialized sonography procedures of moderate complexity to produce quality diagnostic images
• Work independently, exercising sound judgment and executing developed clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures
• Gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment and effective communication
• May be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff to the department
• Perform sonographic examinations with a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Recognize, prioritize, and communicate suspicious or abnormal results to physicians and other healthcare providers
• Utilize computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), EPIC, and Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS)
• Ensure the privacy and protection of each patient's protected health information (PHI)
• Minimum 2 years of recent relevant sonography experience required
• Graduation from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program required, or possession of ARDMS evidencing completion of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
• Required certifications upon hire: ARDMS (American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) and BLS (Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider)
• Must possess two of the following certifications upon hire: Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), Fetal Echocardiography (FE), Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN), Pediatric Sonography (PS), or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT)
• Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment required, including experience responding to traumas and hospital emergencies
