ICU Registered Nurse Job in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in the Intensive Care Unit. You will work day shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week, with no on-call requirements.

Role Overview

As an ICU RN, you will provide total patient care in a 12-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:2–3. Your responsibilities include ventilator management, titratable drip administration, and comprehensive hygiene care. You will also float to the Emergency Room and Med-Surg departments as needed.

Floating Duties

• ER: Answer call lights, pass medications, transport patients, start IVs, and draw blood
• Med-Surg: Manage a full patient assignment of up to 6 patients or provide aide support for up to 12 patients

Requirements

• 2+ years of ICU experience
• ER and Med-Surg experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with ventilators, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene preferred
• TNCC certification preferred
