ICU Registered Nurse Job in Carlsbad, New Mexico

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in the Intensive Care Unit. You will work day shifts on a 3x12 schedule, from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

Role Overview

You will provide comprehensive ICU patient care in a 12-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:2–3. Your responsibilities include ventilator management, titratable drip administration, medication mixing, and patient hygiene. You will float to the Emergency Room and Med Surg departments as needed. In the ER, you will answer call lights, pass medications, transport patients, start IVs, and draw blood. In Med Surg, you may take a full patient assignment of up to 6 patients or serve as an aide for up to 12 patients.

Schedule and Compensation

This is a day shift position with no on-call requirements. Holidays are required. Weekly pay is $2,289. The assignment runs for 91 days, starting July 20, 2026. Blocked scheduling may be accommodated upon request and should be noted in your submittal.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• 2+ years of ICU experience
• Emergency Room and Med Surg experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with ventilators, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC certification

Additional Information

The facility uses the MedHost EMR system. You may wear scrubs of any color. This position does not guarantee 48 hours per week.
