Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work on a Med/Surg Telemetry Certified Stroke Center unit that also serves as a Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Care for patients with neuro-related diagnoses including CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, radiculopathy, cervical stenosis, rhabdomyolysis, ETOH withdrawal, and post-surgical neuro patients
• Unit also serves as a telemetry overflow unit for other patient populations
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Patient ratio of 5:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Float required to Med/Surg and Med/Surg Tele units to support hospital needs
• Perform EEG continuous bedside monitoring, telemetry monitoring, and bladder scans
• Skills required include cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, heparin protocols, blood product administration, pre/post neurosurgery care, traumatic brain injury management, wound care, and peripheral/PICC line management
• Chart using Cerner system
• 2 years of experience required
• Neurology and Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Basic EKG testing through Prophecy Relias must be successfully completed prior to orientation
• 8 stroke CEUs required annually
• Valid Maryland or Compact nursing license required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
