ICU Registered Nurse Job in Bay City, MI

McLaren Bay Region is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary position in our Intensive Care Unit on the day shift. This 91-day assignment runs 3 shifts of 12 hours per week, beginning October 12, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,170.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct bedside nursing care and execute medical orders in the ICU setting
• Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, focused on returning patients to optimal health
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and adjust interventions as clinically indicated
• Delegate tasks to and oversee Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, and ancillary personnel
• Integrate evidence-based practice into daily clinical work
• Facilitate and participate in patient conferences and discharge planning
• Precept and mentor new employees and students
• Function as a team leader to ensure appropriate patient placement and assignment delegation
• Float to the Emergency Department and Step-Down units as needed

Requirements:

• Current Michigan nursing license
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Comfort floating between ICU, ED, and Step-Down units
• Schedule includes every other weekend with at least 2 shifts requested from each rotation; no on-call responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Travel healthcare experience
• Neuro surgical experience
• Open heart experience
• Additional certifications: TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN
