PCU RN Job in Bay City, MI

McLaren Bay Region is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a temporary basis. You will work the night shift, 3x12 hours, with an every-other-weekend schedule and no on-call responsibilities. This is a 91-day assignment beginning October 5, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,170.

Role Responsibilities

• Monitor patients using advanced telemetry equipment and track vital signs and critical metrics
• Perform regular patient assessments, recognize subtle changes in condition, and initiate necessary interventions
• Administer complex medications and IV therapies; titrate drips as ordered
• Provide specialized care for post-operative patients, cardiac event patients, and those with complex conditions, including ventilator patients and stroke patients requiring neuro checks
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing care and patient responses

Requirements

• Current Michigan nursing license
• Minimum 2 years of RN stepdown/progressive care experience
• Telemetry monitoring experience
• Cerner electronic health record experience
• BLS (AHA) certification
• ACLS (AHA) certification
