Med Surg RN Job in Avon, IN

You'll work a 3x12 night schedule at IU Health West Hospital in Avon, Indiana, caring for adult patients on a medical-surgical unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 7, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,061.

Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse, you'll manage a patient ratio of 1:6 on nights. Your patients include those requiring dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, stroke care, heart failure management, delirium and dementia support, end-of-life care, mental health services, and substance withdrawal monitoring. You'll float to other Med Surg units and the Observation Unit within the hospital.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Weekend coverage required

Essential Skills and Experience

• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draws
• Feeding tube care and management
• Heparin administration
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Peripheral line care and IV management
• PICC line management
• Special equipment: feeding tubes, chest tubes, trachs, and blood administration
