Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job in Baltimore, MD

Join MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center as a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work a 3x12 night shift schedule with every other weekend required and holiday coverage expected. No on-call duties.

Role Scope

You will float between Adult and NICU units, treating patients across all age groups from neonates and infants to adults and geriatrics. Your responsibilities include:

• Airway management: endotracheal tube placement and suctioning, extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy suctioning
• Administer inhaled medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
• Set up and manage aerosol devices: masks, trach collars, metered dose inhalers, nebulizers, and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Manage BiPAP and CPAP; troubleshoot high pressure alarms; assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and perform umbilical blood gas collection
• Draw and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs)

Equipment & Technology

You must be familiar with Draeger and Servo ventilators, including the Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U. Cerner charting system experience is required.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as an RRT in Adult Critical Care and NICU
• 1 prior travel assignment
• Current certifications: BLS, CRT, NRP, MD State License, and RRT
• Preferred certifications: ACLS and PALS
• ED experience preferred

Preferred Skills

Bronchoscopy, inhaled Flolan, Nitric Oxide (INo), Ketamine, Mucomyst, Bicarbonate, and Theophylline administration.

Compensation & Details
