Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job in Merced, CA

Mercy Medical Center Merced is seeking an RN to join its Cardiac Catheterization Lab team on a 91-day travel assignment. You will work four 10-hour shifts per week—Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM, with flexibility for earlier or later start times as cases require. On-call duties may be requested.

Your Role

You will circulate in the cath lab, assisting with a range of acute-care procedures including PCIs, diagnostic catheterizations, peripheral interventions, nephrostomy tube placements, and IVC filter insertions. Your responsibilities include patient preparation, equipment management, and procedural support. Scrubbing is handled by dedicated Cath Lab Techs, so your focus is circulating. You must have sufficient clinical experience to mentor and assist in training new nursing staff.

Experience & Requirements

You need current ACLS and BLS certifications and a valid California nursing license. A BSN is not required. Knowledge of balloon pump operation is essential; STEMI experience is preferred. You should demonstrate competency in Cerner, Sensis, and Merge charting systems and be comfortable with GE equipment.

Caseload & Environment

The facility currently operates one cath lab with plans to expand to two units. Daily caseload varies from zero to five or six cases, depending on patient volume and acuity. This is an acute-care environment where flexibility and quick thinking are valued.

• Weekly pay: $2,922
• Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment (or 3 shifts for assignments under 13 weeks)
