CVOR Technologist in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our cardiovascular and thoracic operating room team. This is a 13-week travel contract position working day shift.

Schedule and Compensation

• Four 10-hour shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• On-call requirement: minimum one weekday per week with weekend rotation
• Weekday on-call hours: 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM; weekend on-call: 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• $1,553 per week
• Start date: September 28, 2026

Facility Details

• Six operating rooms with 250–300 procedures monthly
• EMR systems: MedHost (Inpatient) and PICIS (OR)
• Hospital scrubs provided
• 1:1 patient ratio

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room including sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to surgeon during procedures
• Manage sterile field and specimens simultaneously
• Perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects

Required Qualifications

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification following completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other programmatically-accredited surgical technology program
• Minimum 2+ years of experience
• BLS certification required
• Experience in general, ortho, OBGYN, podiatry, urology, plastics, endo, trauma, and robotics (DaVinci)
• Adult and pediatric surgical experience required
