About this role
St Joseph Hospital - Nashua is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for its Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This is a day shift position with a 91-day contract beginning September 21, 2026. You will earn $2,496.60 per week.
In this role, you will provide professional nursing care to post-operative patients in a structured critical care environment. Your responsibilities include:
- Render direct patient care in support of physician-directed medical treatment
- Complete all unit-specific competencies required for critically ill patient care
- Document clinical information and care plans comprehensively and in a timely manner
- Communicate patient information through hand-offs, walking rounds, and interactions with physicians and providers
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by following established procedures and protocols
- Conduct hourly rounding in collaboration with Licensed Nursing Assistants on all assigned patients
- Collaborate across units and shifts to resolve conflicts and issues promptly
- Delegate aspects of care and unit activities to other nursing personnel as appropriate
- Assist with insertion of Flow wire, Opsens, and IVUS devices
- Demonstrate knowledge of contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion
- Administer procedural sedation, pass annual sedation examination, and document according to policy
- Participate in peer review and DNV survey readiness activities
Required qualifications: Current New Hampshire RN license, BLS certification, and ACLS certification.
Preferred qualifications: Three years of critical care experience; Basic Dysrhythmia certification; NHISS certification; Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training. If you do not hold preferred certifications, you must obtain them prior to completing orientation.
