ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

CHI Health Good Samaritan is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 33-bed ICU in Kearney, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week at $2,353 weekly pay
• Day shifts: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM; Night shifts: 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 holidays within contract timeframe
• Self-scheduling into core staff with block scheduling not guaranteed

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage 1:2–3 patient ratio for adult ICU patients with an average daily census of 16
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry using GE monitor equipment with tele tech oversight
• Operate respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilator support
• Treat common diagnoses including trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress

Staffing & Support

• Nurse aides available based on census
• Healthcare Support Tech available three days per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Floating to PCU or Med-Surg may occur with typical ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• On-call requirement with 30-minute arrival window if called back in

Requirements & Details

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must pass an open-book skills exam with a minimum 90% score during orientation
• Valid driver's license required at time of submission
• BSN not required
• Charting via EPIC system
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments
