First Assist Technician Job in Richmond, VA

Join CJW Medical – Johnston-Willis Campus as a First Assist Technician on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work in a 16-room operating room unit on the first floor of the main hospital, providing surgical first assist across a range of specialties.

Schedule & Hours

• Day shift: 4x10 schedule, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Evening taper: 4 teams from 3:00 PM–5:00 PM, 2 teams from 5:00 PM–7:00 PM, 1 team from 7:00 PM–11:00 PM
• Call rotation: Approximately 2 shifts per week, including weekday nights and weekend primary and backup coverage
• 1:1 patient ratio
• No floating to other units

Clinical Requirements

• Robotic surgery experience required
• Orthopedic surgery experience required
• Neuro/spine surgery experience required
• Current Virginia license required

Scope of Work

You'll perform first assist duties across general, plastics, urology, orthopedic, neurosurgery, and robotic cases. You'll work with OR equipment including robotics, neurosurgery, general, plastics, urology, and orthopedic instrumentation. Transplant and cardiac surgery are excluded from this role. The facility uses Meditech for electronic medical records.
