Job Details:

• Work in a 16-suite operating room environment, routinely running 12-14 suites with space reserved for trauma cases
• Average caseload of 35-50 cases per day with an expectation of turnovers in less than 20 minutes
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Both scrubbing and circulating experience preferred
• Weekend call schedule runs from end of shift Friday through 6:30 AM Monday, with up to 1 overnight per week and 3 weekends per 13-week contract
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
• Float across all campuses as required
• Service lines include cardiac/peripheral vascular, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, transplants, ENT, and plastics
• Special equipment includes 3 Da Vinci robots, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and primarily Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma
• Scrubs are provided
• 24 months of current operating room experience required with hospital/medical center experience prioritized
• Circulating and operating room experience required; scrub experience highly preferred
• Experience in General, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases required
• Additional experience in Neurology, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, and Vascular highly preferred
• EPIC electronic medical systems experience within previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred; Trauma Level II experience required
• No first-time travelers; must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months
• Skills checklist specific to Operating Room Nurse (scrub/scrubbing) required
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required
• Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within 24 months preferred
• Driver's license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
