Operating Room RN Job in Augusta, GA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room at Piedmont Augusta Hospital, covering a variety of surgical specialties including General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal procedures. This 56-week assignment runs 4x10 days on a rotating schedule.

Role & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of OR experience required; first-time travelers are accepted
• Both circulating and scrub skills required
• Work across 16 OR rooms with an average daily census of 35 patients
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Skilled procedures include craniotomy, total joint replacement, laparoscopic-assisted cases, robotic surgery, spinal fusions, and vascular procedures

Facility & Systems

• Epic, Pyxis, and 2 Da Vinci XI Robots available
• Scrubs provided by facility

Call & Schedule Requirements

• 7–8 calls per 8-week schedule, including 1 weekend call and 1–2 weekend shifts
• Call shifts are C1 (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) or C2 (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• 2–3 weekday night call shifts per 8-week period
• 2–3 weekends per 8-week schedule, either in-house or on call
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed (rare)
• Orientation: 72 hours; no requested time off during orientation week

Time Off & Holidays

• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• RTO blackout: Spring Break (April 4–12)
• If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, you work them; if three major holidays fall during the assignment, you work two of them
• Major holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required

Compensation

• Weekly pay: $2,293
