Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Rehab

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts with 4 total weekend shifts per 8-week period
• Holidays worked into core rotation based on unit coverage
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 with tech support at 1:8
• Float to any Med Surg unit as needed
• 2-shift floor-specific orientation provided
• Charting system: Cerner EMR
• Scrub color: Slate grey required
• Natural hair color required and no facial piercings permitted
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Must have Level 1 Trauma experience
• Strong Med Surg experience required; Rehab experience preferred
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Must successfully complete Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Must maintain sterile field competency as nurses have been terminated during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field
• Additional Day 1 orientation includes lifts, restraints, and wound care (educational based)
• Must be comfortable with high level of communication and personal involvement with patients and families
• Common patient diagnoses include TBI, brain tumor resection, CVA, lung transplant, and liver transplant (90% neuro population)
• Must be comfortable with acute Med Surg care including IV therapy and wound care
• Travel teams must have their own vehicles
• Must reside outside of 50-mile radius (driver's license used as verification)
• Required certifications: BLS Certification
