PACU RN Job in Richmond, VA

You are an RN with PACU or ICU experience, ready to join CJW Medical – Johnston-Willis Campus in Richmond, VA for a 91-day travel assignment. This is a day shift role working 5 days per week, 8 hours per shift, starting October 5, 2026. You will earn $2,125 weekly.

Your Role

You will provide post-anesthesia care in a specialized unit where patient safety and clinical precision are essential. Your responsibilities include setting up PCA pumps, performing drip titration, drawing arterial line blood samples, and monitoring patients on ventilators. You will use Philips and GE monitors, Sigma Spectrum pumps, and the Meditech EMR system. Typical patient ratios are 2:1; you may provide 1:1 care for unstable ICU patients or pediatric patients as needed.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS and PALS certifications required
• PACU or ICU experience mandatory
• Strong neurological background required
• Ventilator competency required
• Drip titration experience preferred
• Neurosurgery experience preferred

Schedule & Unit Details

Day shift starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 7:30 PM. The unit offers no floating to other departments, allowing you to build continuity and expertise in PACU-specific care. You will work as part of a stable team in a facility that values organizational skill, multitasking ability, and reliable performance.

What to Know

The facility requires navy scrubs. On-call commitments exist but are structured: weekday on-call runs 9:30 PM to 8:00 AM, and weekend call rotates among staff. This assignment is ideal if you have strong neuro skills and are comfortable managing post-operative and critically ill patients in a controlled, specialized setting.
