ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE is seeking a Registered Nurse for their 33-bed ICU. This is a 112-day travel assignment starting September 14, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,384.64.

Shift Details

• Work 3 shifts per week on a 12-hour night schedule from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement, with weekends defined as Saturday and Sunday
• Minimum of 2 holidays required within the contract timeframe
• If placed on call and called back in, you must be able to arrive within 30 minutes

Patient Care

• Average daily census of 16 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
• Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitoring system with tele tech oversight
• Work with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Nurse aides available based on census for 1:1 sits or floor assistance

Expectations

• Float to PCU or occasionally Med-Surg with typical ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• Self-scheduling system with travelers added in; block scheduling not guaranteed
• Charting performed using EPIC system
• Pass/fail open book exam during orientation requiring a minimum score of 90% to pass
• 1 shift of unit/department specific orientation provided

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Valid driver's license at submittal
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
