NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Holidays worked in with core rotation
• First to float when needed
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Community Level 3 NICU with 14 beds
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:3
• Charting system: Cerner
• Telemetry: Philips
• Ventilator experience required; Respiratory Therapy available 24/7 to run vents
• Neonatologist or pediatrician on call 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• Common patient diagnoses include rule-out sepsis, premature infants, late preterm infants, IDDM gestational diabetes, neonatal abstinence syndrome; no surgical patients
• Locked unit; patients may be discharged home or transferred to pediatrics
• No IV team on unit; lab draws neonatal lab work
• No nurse aides on unit
• Charge nurse available on unit
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts on unit
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
