Pediatrics RN Job in Abilene, TX

Hendrick Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for its pediatrics unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Weekly pay: $2,002

Role Details

You will provide direct patient care to neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatric, and adult patients. Patient ratios are 1:4 across all shifts and weekends. Float assignments to the NICU are required; you may also float to other floors or campus locations, so flexibility is essential.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• Previous charge nurse experience
• BLS and PALS certifications
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must live 150 miles or more from the facility

Preferred Certifications

• CPHON (Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)

Clinical Skills and Responsibilities

You will manage complex pediatric patients, including administration of blood and blood products, central line care, tracheostomy care and management, ventilator management, pediatric dosage calculations, NG tube insertion and management, telemetry monitoring, and wound assessment and care.

Work Environment

• Charting system: Allscripts
• Altera experience preferred but not required
• Navy scrubs required
