Interventional Radiology Technologist Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 103-week travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026. You will work four 10-hour day shifts per week and earn $2,607 weekly.

Your Role

You will support interventional radiology and neuroradiology procedures, working alongside radiologists and the surgical team. Your responsibilities include:

• Select exposure factors and positioning to produce diagnostic-quality radiologic images
• Administer oral contrast as needed per exam protocol
• Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations
• Assist the Radiologist during interventional procedures
• Demonstrate proficiency with all x-ray equipment, CR and DR systems
• Operate Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS with competency
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly to your manager or lead
• Maintain medication security protocols
• Provide care to patients of all age groups

Requirements

• Two years of experience in radiologic technology
• ARRT certification (required)
• New York state technician license (required)
• BLS certification through American Heart Association (required)
• Neurosurgery or neuroscience experience (required)
• Interventional radiology experience (preferred)
• VIR certification (preferred)

Scheduling

Weekend and holiday availability is required. You will be on-call 1–2 times per week and assigned 1–2 weekends of call per month, with callback expected per unit needs.
