ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Anesthesia Technician for an 8-hour evening shift position at URMC Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. This is a 362-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026, with a weekly pay of $1,430.

About the Role

You will work afternoon and evening shifts from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, providing essential support to anesthesiologists, CRNAs, residents, and anesthesia technologists. Your responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment prior to patient arrival, ensuring all supplies are clean and readily available
  • Place anesthesia monitors and set up medications and supplies as needed
  • Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and central line catheter placements
  • Operate cell-saver machines, track lab reports, and support advanced surgical cases including cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, and trauma procedures
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting, including testing infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors
  • Calibrate anesthesia machines and attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes to video monitors
  • Set up and break down operating rooms between cases, maintaining carts throughout the day
  • Support out-of-OR anesthesia procedures, ensuring proper equipment placement
  • Provide preventive maintenance and ensure all equipment is in working order
  • Assist in developing and implementing in-service training programs for staff
  • Provide backup support to shift supervisor as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required)
  • Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized certifying body (preferred)
  • Holiday, weekend, on-call, and call-back availability as needed

You will work directly with service-specific faculty and division leadership, serving as a key resource person for specialized equipment use and maintenance. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.
