Job Details:

• Work day shifts Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• On-call, callback, holiday, and weekend coverage required per unit needs
• Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia including preparation of equipment prior to patient arrival and placement of anesthesia monitors
• Continuously communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists to ensure needs are met throughout the day
• Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and placement of central line catheters
• Operate the cell-saver machine, track lab reports, and participate in cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other advanced surgical cases
• Ensure anesthesia equipment is in good working order and preventive maintenance is completed
• Set up and operate sophisticated equipment and perform advanced troubleshooting
• Assist in development and implementation of in-service training programs and training of staff
• Perform anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting including testing infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors
• Calibrate anesthesia machines and attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes to video monitors
• Set up rooms between cases, set up carts throughout the day, and provide full service setup at end of day
• Support out-of-OR procedures ensuring proper equipment is in place
• Provide backup to shift supervisor in his/her absence as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech required
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body preferred
