About this role
Baystate Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for night shifts on a progressive care unit. You will work 3 x 12-hour shifts, earning $2,706.84 per week on a 91-day travel assignment starting September 7, 2026.
Unit Overview
Daly 6B is a 42-bed progressive care unit combining medical-telemetry and medical step-down care. The unit is divided into 21 medical beds and 21 intermediate care beds. Patient ratios are 1:3 for intermediate care and 1:6 for medical-telemetry, allowing you to provide direct, hands-on nursing care.
Your Role
As an RN, you will care for patients across both sides of the floor, managing intermediate care and medical-telemetry patients. You will work with a range of acuity levels and clinical presentations. Occasional floating to other units may occur.
Clinical Experience You'll Need
You should have 1–2 years of nursing experience. You must be comfortable managing:
- Mechanical ventilators and tracheostomy care
- High-flow nasal cannula
- Cardiac drips and hemodynamic monitoring
- BiPAP and non-invasive ventilation
- Telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation
Patient Cases
You will care for patients with conditions including pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS), alcohol withdrawal, GI bleeding, sepsis, pulmonary embolism (PE), urinary tract infections, and respiratory failure.
Required Certifications
You must hold current ACLS and BLS certifications.
