PCU RN Job in Springfield, MA

Baystate Medical Center is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment on Daly 6B, a 42-bed Medical Intermediate Care Unit in Springfield, MA. You will work nights on a unit that combines medical-telemetry and medical step-down care.

Unit Overview

• 42 total beds: 21 medical and 21 intermediate care
• Patient ratios: 1:3 in intermediate care, 1:6 in medical-telemetry
• Mixed acuity environment requiring experience across both settings

Patient Cases

You will care for patients with conditions including pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), hyperglycemic hyperosmolar state (HHS), alcohol withdrawal, gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis, pulmonary embolism (PE), urinary tract infection (UTI), and respiratory failure.

Required Clinical Skills

• Tracheostomy management
• Mechanical ventilation
• High-flow nasal cannula
• Cardiac drips
• BiPAP administration
• Telemetry monitoring

Role Details

RNs on this unit work both the medical-telemetry and intermediate care sides of the floor. You may be floated to other units as needed. The assignment runs for 91 days beginning September 7, 2026, with three 12-hour night shifts per week at $2,628 weekly pay.

Qualifications

• RN degree
• 1–2 years of nursing experience preferred
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current BLS certification required
