ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Full-time position with 36 or 48 hours per week guarantees available
• Overtime is not billable until after 48 hours
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients in the ICU
• Mixed cardiac and medical ICU treating patients with DKA, Acute Respiratory Failure, MIs, CABGs, Ventilators, and similar conditions
• Must have experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Impellas, post-op cardiovascular surgeries, and CRRT
• Provide routine and complex nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols and monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers
• 1 year of experience in a critical care setting preferred
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
• RN license in state of employment or compact required
