Physical Therapist Job in Highlands, NC

You are a Physical Therapist seeking a backfill travel position at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, a critical access facility in Highlands, NC. This is a 91-day assignment beginning June 15, 2026.

Role and Schedule

• Outpatient physical therapy in a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5x8 days)
• One patient per hour workflow ratio
• Primary focus on treatment rather than evaluation only
• Work with swing bed patients in a critical access hospital setting
• May float to Eckerd Living Center (located within the same building) as needed

Facility and Equipment

• New rehab gym with comprehensive equipment and full kitchen and laundry setup
• All lift equipment available
• Outdoor therapy space available
• Documentation via Cerner system

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments
• Apply a strong rehabilitation-focused mindset to patient care
• Utilize available facilities and equipment to deliver quality therapy

Requirements

• Current Physical Therapist state license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred
• Scrubs required (no specific color mandate)
