Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Tele

Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with 16 beds and an average daily census of 16
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Required charting system: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed, including to other Cardiac Telemetry Units or other units as needed
• No call requirements
• Holiday coverage required: if 1-2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th–12th)
• Self-scheduling
• Orientation hours: 24
• Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, EKG, Doppler, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, heart failure management, chest pain, peripheral vascular disease, peritoneal dialysis, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management (no titration), pacemaker management, PICC line management, phlebotomy, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
