Respiratory Therapist Job in Harrisburg, PA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment at Central – UPMC Harrisburg in Harrisburg, PA. You will work a 3x12 day shift schedule, providing approximately 36 hours per week at $2,426 weekly pay.

In this role, you will deliver respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. Your responsibilities include:

• Reading prescriptions, measuring arterial blood gases, and reviewing patient information to assess patient condition and determine treatment requirements
• Evaluating the appropriateness of medical orders and interpreting clinical data to optimize patient outcomes
• Setting up and operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Monitoring patient physiological responses to therapy including vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes
• Performing bronchopulmonary drainage and assisting patients with breathing exercises
• Performing pulmonary function tests for physician diagnosis
• Assisting with transport of mechanically ventilated patients and responding to all code situations
• Maintaining patient charts with pertinent identification and therapy information

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RTT) certification
• State License, PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, PA Act 73
• NRP may be required for certain facilities
