ED Registered Nurse Job in Cedar Rapids, IA

UnityPoint – St. Luke's Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its 34-bed Emergency Department. This is a temporary contract position with a start date of August 3, 2026, and a duration of 91 days.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12 hour night shifts, every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio: 4:1 with mixed patient populations
• Weekly pay: $2,280.96

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Minimum 24 months of Emergency Department experience required
• Proficiency with drips and titrations
• EPIC EMR experience required
• May float to Marion ED freestanding campus as needed
• Required to work 1–2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed

Required Certifications

• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC
• NIH Stroke Scale
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• De-escalation certification (CPI, MAB, MOAB, or SAMA); can be obtained during onboarding if not currently held
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months

Additional Information

• Must have completed a travel contract within the previous 18 months
• Scrub colors: Black, Navy Blue, or Caribbean Blue (solids only)
