PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour night shifts, Friday through Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend coverage required Friday through Sunday
• On-call required: 24 hours of call per 6-week schedule period as needed
• Night shift nurses are expected to pre-op patients for first cases from 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM when there are no PACU patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Float within service line to meet facility needs
• Minimum 1 year of critical care experience or Level I Trauma Center experience required
• PACU and critical care experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must pass Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Proficiency required in managing complicated postoperative patients including multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
• Care for surgical patients including GU, GYN, colorectal, minimally invasive procedures, bariatric, and some ENT cases
• Manage pre-op assessments, pre-op education, pre-op medications, and pre/post IR procedures
• Experience with IV vasopressors, care of ventilated patients, and starting and maintaining IVs required
• Treat patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Navy scrubs required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Block scheduling not available
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
