Special Procedures Technologist in Indianapolis, IN

IU Health University Hospital is seeking an Allied Health Professional Special Procedures Technologist for a 91-day travel assignment in Interventional Radiology. You will work in the Liver Center performing a wide range of advanced procedures in a dynamic clinical environment.

Responsibilities

You will support interventional radiologists in performing complex procedures including Y-90 radioembolization, MAAS, AVS, DEBS, PTC, and drain placements. You will manage a daily census of approximately 25 patients across 4 procedure rooms, serving both adult and geriatric populations. Your duties include patient preparation, equipment setup, monitoring vital signs and hemodynamic parameters, and assisting with image guidance using Siemens equipment and C-arm technology.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology
• BLS certification
• ARRT (R) certification
• ACLS certification
• First-time travelers accepted

Preferred Experience

• Outpatient and inpatient settings, operating room experience
• C-arm, contrast administration, stent placement, ablations
• Angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, peripheral procedures
• Drainage procedures and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency with PACS and Cerner charting systems

Key Procedural Skills

• Angioplasty, carotid angiography, carotid stenting, central venous access
• PICC line care and maintenance, embolization, endovascular interventions
• Gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement, liver biopsy
• Nephrostomy, paracentesis, radioembolization, TIPS procedures
• Thrombolysis and thrombectomy, vertebroplasty
• Upper and lower extremity angiography

Additional Information

You will be on-call 1 day per week from 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a call rotation of approximately 1 week per every 9–10 weeks. Floating is required and may include other hospital departments or nearby affiliate facilities.
