CVOR RN Job in Atlanta, GA

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CVOR). This is a 98-day travel assignment beginning July 27, 2026, working three 12-hour day shifts per week at $2,785 weekly.

Position Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Current Georgia or Compact nursing license required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital and trauma level experience preferred

Clinical Responsibilities

You will provide direct patient care in a 1:1 ratio during day shifts, managing pre- and post-operative cardiovascular and thoracic surgical patients. Required procedural competencies include CABG, TAVR, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, mitral valve replacement, MAZE procedures, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, VATS, and related cardiothoracic interventions. Patient population includes adults and geriatrics. You may float within facility scope and to the main OR as needed.

Schedule and Availability

Weekend shifts rotate per contract. On-call requirements typically include one weekday call per week and one weekend call every 3–4 weeks. Holiday work is mandatory; if one or two major holidays fall during your assignment, you work all; if three or more fall during your assignment, you work a minimum of two. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.

All requested time off must be finalized at submission; no schedule requests are permitted after offer or upon arrival. Block schedules are not honored, and self-scheduling is not available. Maximum paid time off is 7 days per contract. Travel pairs are not accepted.

Interdisciplinary support is available, including respiratory services and interpretation services. Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is a full-service community facility with trauma designations, providing a structured operating room environment for cardiothoracic nursing practice.
