Job Details:

• 13-week contract assignment
• Night shift schedule
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off available per contract
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 1:4 required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Virginia nursing license required (pending licenses accepted)
• Provide perioperative and postoperative care to pediatric patients in a 10-bed unit with an additional 4-bed Pediatric Surgical Observation Unit (PSOU)
• Care for pediatric patients requiring overnight observation or extended recovery up to 23 hours following surgery
• Deliver comprehensive, family-centered care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualized patient care
• Perform ongoing assessments, manage pain and recovery, and provide patient and family education
• Coordinate safe discharge planning for pediatric surgical patients
• Patient age groups include infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Must be comfortable with self-scheduling
• Must float within scope of practice as needed
• 50-mile radius rule applies to this unit
