PACU RN Job in Michigan City, IN

Franciscan Health Michigan City is seeking an experienced RN for our Post Anesthesia Care Unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 30, 2026, offering stability and professional growth in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Role Overview

You will work 5x8 hour day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, providing direct patient care to individuals recovering from anesthesia. You'll earn $2,282 weekly with 40 guaranteed hours per week. While there are no formal on-call requirements, you may receive occasional calls at home with questions regarding patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess post-operative patients in the PACU setting
• Collaborate closely with surgeon and anesthesia teams
• Document care using the Epic EMR system
• Support quality initiatives and report on relevant KPIs
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and adaptability
• Coordinate with OR and interdepartmental teams to ensure seamless patient transitions

Facility & Environment

You will be part of a 9-room main OR unit plus 1 OB OR located on the OB floor. The facility operates advanced surgical technology including Stryker integrated suites, Mako robotic systems for orthopedic procedures, and 2 Da Vinci systems used for urology, general surgery, and gynecology cases. Patients undergo procedures in urology, orthopedic, gynecology, vascular, general surgery, ENT, and spine specialties.

Qualifications

You must hold a current RN license with 5 or more years of experience. CNOR certification is preferred. You should be comfortable operating in an environment with cutting-edge equipment and demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to changes in daily scheduling and priorities.

Ceil blue scrubs will be provided. All other attire is unacceptable.
