Medical Lab Technician

Opportunity:

Medical Technologist - Medical Lab Technician (MLT) / Medical Technologist (MT)

Job Details:

• 8-hour shifts with variable start times between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM (must be flexible)
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract
• No on-call, call back, weekend, or holiday requirements
• Perform chemistry, hematology, blood bank, micro set up and gram stains, urinalysis, coagulation, ESR, ABG, phlebotomy, manual cell count, trauma drug screen, and rapid tests
• Work in a small rural hospital lab servicing the ED, hospital, and 3 clinics
• Float within a Critical Access Hospital setting
• Required certifications: MLT or MLS (ASCP) and AHA BLS
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in specialty area and phlebotomy experience required
• Rural health and/or critical access hospital experience strongly preferred
• Arterial blood collection experience required
• Strong phlebotomy skills required
• Good understanding of maintenance, quality control, and EPIC Beaker required
• EPIC electronic medical record experience preferred
• Experience with equipment including Sysmex XN550, ACL TOP 350, Roche e411, Roche c501, Roche Pure, Bactec FX40, Abbott ID NOW, Clinitek Status, Medtox scan, and Ortho Workstation Gel Method preferred
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, and able to manage change well
• Must be willing to assist and train less experienced lab technicians
• Must be assertive, confident in skills, and a team player
• Required dress code: Solid royal blue and black scrubs in any combination, except not all black
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
