About this role
Join the Sparrow Herbert-Herman Cancer Center Infusion Center as a Registered Nurse. You will deliver specialized infusion care to oncology patients in a structured, predictable schedule.
Schedule & Environment
- Work 4 ten-hour shifts per week, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with hours subject to change based on unit needs
- Every other weekend required; 6 weekend shifts per contract
- No night, floating, or on-call shifts
- Patient ratio of 10–12 patients daily, up to 14 on weekends
Clinical Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, IV hydration, electrolyte replacement, iron infusions, and supportive oncology care
- Perform central line care including PICC line and implanted port management, port access and de-access, and lab draws
- Assess and manage infusion reactions, symptom assessment, and patient and family education
- Support scheduled infusion visits, same-day add-ons, and urgent symptom management
- Collaborate with oncology providers, pharmacy, and nurse navigators
- Document in Epic EMR and complete chemotherapy verification and oncology safety protocols
- Operate Alaris IV pumps, Infusystem chemotherapy pumps, port access devices, PICC lines, central venous catheters, chemo spill kits, PPE for hazardous drugs, and ultrasound IV equipment
Qualifications
- Active Michigan nursing license required; compact license not accepted
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Epic EMR experience required; Beacon experience preferred
- Current BLS certification
- ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certification required
This 91-day contract begins August 31, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,419.20.
