PACU Registered Nurse Job in New Orleans, LA

Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will work 10-hour day shifts on a 4x10 schedule, with start times of either 5:00 AM or 9:00 AM to be confirmed during your interview.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide post-anesthesia care for adult and geriatric patients recovering from cardiac and vascular procedures
• Monitor patients following procedures including left and right heart catheterization (LHC/RHC), TAVR, ablations, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), cardioversion, loop recorder placement, pacemaker and device insertion, and vascular interventions
• Manage a 1:4 patient ratio during day shift
• Operate specialized equipment including vein finder and bladder scanner
• Document patient care in Epic electronic health record system

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or Pre/Post Op specialty
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA credentials required)
• Prior travel healthcare experience required; first-time travelers cannot be considered
• Willingness to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Halloween
• Primary residence located more than 65 miles from facility (verified by driver's license address)
• Royal blue or white scrubs

Assignment Details:

This 91-day position begins November 9, 2026. You will earn $2,310 per week. The assignment is based in New Orleans, Louisiana at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans.
