Telemetry RN Job in Omaha, NE

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 25-bed Medical Surgical Neurology unit at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning December 7, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,370.

Schedule and Orientation

• 3x12 night shifts: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• At least every other weekend required, with additional weekend shifts based on unit needs and census
• 2–3 holidays required between Thanksgiving and New Year's
• 2 days of unit-specific orientation

Unit Details

You will care for Medical Surgical Neurology patients on the 4th Floor North with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6. Nurse aides and patient care techs support at a 1:10–20 ratio. A charge nurse is present on each shift and carries an assignment. Telemetry techs interpret strips; you will maintain telemetry awareness as part of your role.

Patient Population and Clinical Responsibilities

Your patients include post-stroke care, stable neurological deficits, post-neurosurgery procedures, and Medical Surgical overflow. Common diagnoses include joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, orthopedic trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive. You will titrate Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips, and manage PCA pumps used as common set-rate drips. Floating to other Medical Surgical areas or units is required when beds are needed.

Requirements and Expectations

• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass an open-book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation
• Valid driver's license required at time of application
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• No license or background hits accepted
• Travel experience preferred; strong candidates without travel experience will be considered
• Navy Blue scrubs required for RNs
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments

Charting is done in EPIC. You will use EPIC for all documentation and patient care coordination.
