Special Procedures Technologist Job in Waterbury, CT

Waterbury Hospital is seeking an Allied Health Professional to work as a Special Procedures Technologist in our Interventional Radiology department. This 91-week travel assignment begins July 6, 2026, and offers competitive compensation of $3,110.40 weekly.

Schedule and Requirements

• 5x8 day shift: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Call duty every third week, Monday–Friday 5:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and Saturday, Sunday, and holidays for 24 hours
• Minimum 2 years of interventional radiology experience required
• First-time travelers considered only with extensive IR technologist background
• Required certifications: ARRT R, ARRT VI, BLS

Clinical Responsibilities

You will assist with a wide range of interventional procedures on adult and geriatric patients, including angioplasty, aortography, catheter and drain exchange, central venous access placement (non-tunneled and PICC lines), port placement, chest tube placement, cholecystostomy, dialysis graft creation and revision, embolization, fluoroscopy, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement and removal, inferior vena cavagram, internal and external biliary drainage, mesenteric angiogram, nephrostomy, pelvic angiography, renal angiography, selective visceral angiography, stent placement, superior vena cavagram, thoracentesis, TIPS, and ureteral stent placement.

You will maintain sterile field protocols, adhere to sterile technique, and follow isolation precautions and PPE requirements. You are responsible for equipment setup, maintenance, and supply stocking. You will work with Cerner and Merge PACS documentation systems and demonstrate proficiency with PACS and paracentesis procedures.
