Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on a 35-bed Ortho/Surgical unit on the 5th floor of the Patient Tower
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge/CNC, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs, and 1 unit clerk
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge/CNC, 6 RNs, and 3 PCTs
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Work with Computer on Wheels, Hospira pumps, IMOBILE phones, and MEDITECH EMR
• Perform and assist with bariatric procedures (gastric bypass, gastric sleeves), orthopedic surgeries (total hip and knee replacements), and general surgeries (laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic appendectomies)
• Float to Med/Renal, Oncology, Med/Surg Tele, CVTS, and Telemetry units as needed
• 4 weekend shifts per schedule or 2 full weekends required
• Night shift weekends include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; Day shift weekends include Saturday and Sunday
• Required certification: BLS and active TX RN License
• Preferred certifications: Bariatric Certification, Med/Surg Certification, Ortho Certification, ACLS
• Dress code: Navy scrub top and pants for RNs; nails must be clean and healthy; hair must be neat with no extreme styles or colors; beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed; body art should be covered whenever possible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
