PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work four 10-hour day shifts per week
• PreOp shifts start at 6:00 AM, Phase 2 shifts start at 7:00 AM, and Phase 1 shifts start at 8:00 AM
• Must be able to work in PreOp, Phase 1, and Phase 2 - no floating outside of this department
• Weekend requirement is typically once every 8 weeks
• Call requirement is approximately 3-4 call shifts per month with a 30-minute response time - must be dressed and ready to work within 30 minutes
• Holidays are covered by call
• Scrubs are provided
• Charting system is EPIC
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
• Patient ratios follow ASPAN guidelines - no more than 1:2 in Phase 1 and typically 1:2 or 1:3 in Phase 2
• Respiratory therapy available in-house 24/7
• Pharmacy is not in-house 24/7 - Pyxis available
• No IV Team on site
• Charge Nurse and one Patient Care Unlicensed assistive personnel available in PreOp/PACU
• 1-2 shifts of orientation with a preceptor provided after main hospital orientation
• 2 shift cancellation policy per 13-week contract
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
