Medical Lab Technician Job in Rhinelander, WI

Aspirus Rhinelander is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) for a 13-week travel assignment. You'll work evenings on a 5x8 schedule and earn $2,291 weekly. Start date is August 10, 2026.

Position Overview

You'll perform medical technologist duties with some lab assistant responsibilities across all departments, including blood bank. This is a generalist role requiring comfort and competency in multiple lab areas. Phlebotomy skills are essential.

Schedule & Staffing

• 13-week contract with guaranteed 80 hours biweekly
• Overtime available after 80 hours worked in the second week
• 5x8 evening shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Flexible scheduling with shifts available in 8, 10, or 12-hour increments
• May be placed on low census call with a minimum 2-hour call-back requirement

Travel & Float Expectations

You may float to Tomahawk, Eagle River, or Howard Young locations as needed. Floating may be prescheduled. Willingness to work across multiple Aspirus facilities is required.

Requirements

• Current MLT, MT, or CLS certification; ASCP preferred but not required
• Associate or bachelor's degree
• Minimum 3 years of core lab experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment
• Epic charting system experience
• Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to change
